the surgery is vermillionectomy with mucosal advancement. I reccomend you do two things first. See an oral pathologist to be sure there is no mucosal disease that would continue. A biopsy may be needed. Second be sure the surgeon removes any salivary glands on the mucosa he advances from the inside . The new mucosa will adapt to the dry enviornment in a couple of months.
