Re: ADHD? Depression and eating disorder...

You will be able to overcome your problems once you realize it is not in the mind but in the body. Eating disorders are not so much psychological but physiological. Your body is most probably overproducing stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol. This may be caused by hypoglycemia which  is a sugar handling problem which causes your blood sugar levels to wildly go up and down.

With unstable blood sugar levels your brain cannot produce sufficient biological energy - called ATP. This energy is necessary if your body wants to convert food sources into feel good neurotransmitters such as serotonin. Without serotonin you cannot feel good about yourself.

Serotonin deficiency will also be responsible for your appetite.

I suggest that you and your mother read the following articles to explain how hypoglycemia can affect your mood swings.

Eating Disorders: Anorexia and Bulimia

What is Hypoglycemia?

Depression: A Nutritional Disorder

Depression a Disease of Energy Production

Hypoglycemic Diet
