Re: Feeling a Little Blue...

...there are some who claim that the fiber has been
genetically programmed to exhibit certain colors.
Ok, fine..so..if the fiber has been "instructed" that it
must manufacture a perticular color..say..a blue chromophore, then the fiber will be entirely blue.
..
...or perhaps not. The fibers exhibit a peculiar
tendency to turn the color "program" on and off.
This is even more strange when it happens to a
tangle or coil of fibers...and the colors switch on
and off..in sync with each other.

..and if a fiber type has been "coded" to exibit a certain
color..then how does this sort of color chaos occur?

^^
A pic taken of some of my skin fibers during my "tutti frutti" period. All manner of colors being produced often
in the SAME fiber. Colors being strobed on and off...
"microdot" patterns...series of brightly colored circles.
Stripes..bars..anything goes. Such free form expression
of "pigments" is hard to associate with a "hard coded"
genetic instruction being inserted into the fibers genome.

?? random insertions of DNA? "jUmpIng genes"?
