I have low sodium issues.. the summer brought on some sleepless nights for me(do to the heat and sweat). My legs and arms are restless and my body seems to be if I fall asleep. I thought it could be low cortisol so I tool a small dose (I am on a low dose now) and it did not work. SO I got desperate this past week and I started to take about 1/8 tsp of Hawaiian Bamboo Jade Sea Salt (No other salt worked for me in the past) under my tongue...I let it dissolve and then I take a few ounces of water...and it worked...no more restlessness and I have been sleeping all night with out any bathroom visits. (It has been 4 nights of good sleep...fingers crossed.
I know vitamin D has worked for me in the past for better sleep, but I am not on it in the summer months...But I don't really think if it is a sodium issue that would work.
