Re: can taking immune boosting herbs screw up the immune system?
mkh2, MH is on vacation this week, not sure if he will be in, so I'll give this a barefoot shot in the dark:
cell forte is an isolate from grains (I had to look it up). Barefooters don't do isolates. Why? When you seperate or isolate an "ingredient" of a natural substance, the body has to use what makes is work from elsewhere, causing a loss elsewhere. We use whole foods and whole herbs.
You haven't told us why you think you have an immunity problem.
I do know that astragulus is an adaptagenic herb. This means it balances the things it works on, ie, if your hormones are too high or too low, it aides in balancing them.
One other thing that I've read repeatedly about adaptagenic herbs is that you rotate them, not taking one for more than 10 days to 2 weeks. Other 2 that I'm going to be rotating are aswaganda and schizandra(sp?).
I've been in a holistic lifestyle for 6 yrs now and have never taken an enzyme supplement, btw.
Hope this helps!
