I found out about copper toxicity when researching my condition some five years ago. I had pretty much every symptom listed. I had a series of hair tests which indicated copper toxicity(biounavailable copper to be precise). I also found an integrative doctor here in Ireland who tested copper levels via blood testing which doubly confirmed the condition. I did nutritional balancing for a couple of years but my progress though consistent was slow. Thats when I pretty much took things into my own hands and have been self treating ever since(while getting copper levels checked every couple of months).
I just read this entire thread. I agree with one poster who mentenioned about insufficient bile production. This cannot be underestimated. Without sufficient bile, your liver will be unable to clear out toxins. You say your stools are yellow, mine were orange for long periods. Copper toxicity is caused largely by an overburdened liver. I agree with another poster who said about getting the liver functioning will be the answer.
The only thing that turned my condition around was cleaning up my liver and the *only* way out of this was to include as much fat as I possibly could. That is the key, fat will detoxify a clogged liver as strange as that might sound. I also could not tolerate much protein or fat, my diet was very heavy on carbs as a result which worsened my condition. I literally had to force myself to eat protein and fat laden meals, despite a lot of gi disturbance. From all of the research I had done, I knew I had to or else I was never going to heal. You say that your liver hurts when you consume protein or fat. I have experienced this also but I pushed through it and five years on, I now relish protein and fat laden meals. One of the main symptoms of copper toxicity is inability to handle protein or fats.
I also agree with another poster about the benefits of raw liver. This has been an absolute saviour for me. Make sure to freeze it for at least 14 days before consuming it raw, this kills off any parasites that may be present.
And coconut definitely. I eat coconut almost daily, great source of healthy fat.
Sypher, a vegan diet will further weaken your already struggling system, please trust me on this. Please introduce some form of fat into your diet. If you cannot tolerate dairy then bone broth, coconut, olive oil.. even just a tablespoon a day..anything. Just get some form of fat into your body. The body needs fat in order to utilize the vitamins and minerals from foods. Please also take a look at the Weston Price foundation website, a lot of great information there.
