Re: Conditioning Distilled water?

This is still an interesting topic to me.
I thought people conditioned their water so that it would be optimal for health. Distilled water, by itself, drunk straight up is not yet optimal. Some like to mineralize it, or energize it, or structure it.
I understood the charcoal filter to remove the remaining gasses that may not be completely eliminated during distillation (since gasses rise). That is their purpose. That could be how it makes it taste better. And since charcoal absorbs things to itself, I wouldn't think that it would be putting any of itself into the water. Of course, bacteria buildup is the concern. I am putting a drop of oil of oregano in my water now, I figure that would kill any bacteria. It does taste kinda oregano-ey and I'm still getting used to that.
On sunny days I set my water out in the sun on the grass in my yard.
I also have some thoughtfully chosen words on a paper taped to the bottom of my glass jar.
I tried the grains of rice in the water once but then forgot about it - now that I think about it, I may start that back up.
I wouldn't think the taste of plain distilled would matter too much with MH's method since he hardly ever drinks it plain. It will taste well enough mixed in with juice or made into a tea. Although, with the oregano added, it makes my green tea or rooibos tea taste like oregano tea! It's strong!
