My thyroid is bigger recently. I am scared. I don't think the Iodine is bad because it seems to be helping in some other ways... but I am afraid. It seems to be moving old, weird looking, really dry wax [mottled whitish yellow not bright yellow like normal ear wax]...out of my ears, which I would think would be beneficial. One ear is sending out more of it than the other and that is the ear where I feel some pain before and after the wax comes out. Since I upped the dose to 4, 2 times a day about two weeks ago] I will get a pain around mastoid on one side. A while before or after a tickling begins in one of the ears and upon inserting a Q-Tip not very far in, I extract a chunk of wax, the likes of which I never before saw. I am slated to go to an endocrinologist soon and afraid I will be thought a fool and dumped on by the doctor for taking iodine. I have not seen an endo previously. I chose this MD carefully but am afraid doc will diagnose something awful and I will die being ridiculed by the medical profession. Considering cancelling the appointment. Maybe I need to go to an ear doctor instead or just wait a while until the ears stop emptying the abnormal looking wax? It is obviously old and something my body is ridding itself of. I upped the Iodoral dose because my thyroid was getting bigger. Had not suspected there was any ear problem until after I was on the increased dose and the wax emerged. Researching what Iodine dose ... after the wax began coming out... I found that Iodine does liquify ear wax. Any advice?
