Since we talk about the beginning protocol a lot, I'm not sure which specific post you happened to bookmark :) Target 50-100 mg iodine, 2-4 grams vit C, 200-400 mcg selenomethionine, 400-800 mg magnesium as citrate or malate, and 50-100 mg vit B complex. If you think you have weak adrenals, salted water can be your friend, but the useful amount is individual -- maybe 1/4-1 teaspoon total per day. Some people also need potassium supplements or emphasis on high-potassium foods for best electrolyte balance, but it can be hard to judge without a blood chemistry panel. Zinc 30 mg can be useful, balanced with about 2 mg copper. Drinking half your body weight in water also has its place, to keep everything diluted and moving through your kidneys.
Those supplements support iodine metabolism and thyroid function. Iodine can only do what iodine does. These other nutrients are part of its supporting cast.
