I know what you mean. But sometimes our need is greater than our intake, regardless. Mother is able to keep her back pain at bay with 5 mg methylcobalamin (Jarrow) daily. She also has increased her magnesium and reduced her calcium (she was having spasms as well and was taking way too much calcium). She doesn't need the adenosylcobalamin (aka dibencozide) or methylfolate (Solgar). I need all three, so I probably got an additional deal of the genetic deck from my father.
