Re: MY PLAN FOR IBS, LEAKY GUT..what do you think???
We put our daughter on an extended CFGF diet 3 different times with no observable benefit. She is now 20 years old and this last year had a severe downturn which she described as "not being able to control my mind", with head banging so out of control we had many broken windows, holes in the walls, broken computer keyboard, printer, multiple glass items, favorite toys, and inability to sleep through the night without screaming that could be heard by the neighborhood. She was kicked out of her classroom and volunteer placements. Prior to her downturn, she was able to drive a truck with a stick shift around a parking lot for an hour at a time and she was able to cook meals on the stove unsupervised. I suspect that an exposure to dust (when I was foolish enough to use a grinder to a concrete wall in our basement) may have been involved in her downturn.
This last time when the GFCF diet didn't work, we finally went to a starch free diet(at the Doctors encouragement), which still does not allow gluten or casein. We bought the book, Gut and Psychology Diet, and completely turned out entire families diet upside down with lots of bone broths. My point is that if the CFGF diet does not seem to be working, think about expanding the diet instead of giving up.
