 At my worst of adrenal fatigue, I had some issues with changes in tanning as well.  I just wasn't tanning as well.

I think it is related to the amino acid L-Tyrosine, which we manufacture from phenylalanine. Tyrosine is needed for tanning.  http://www.springboard4health.com/notebook/proteins_tyrosine.html

My guess is that since Tyrosine is a bit of a stimulant...the body intentionally make less since we can't handle the energy.
