My (more than) .02 cents worth

Hiya trapper:
re: the surgery, although I do know more than a few people who have had it with good results and are happy with it, I understand that it frequently does not correct the eye back to 20/20. Close, but not necessarily. Some people still need to wear glasses to drive or things like that. Also, I understand that once you have had a surgery like that you are limited on what you can do to your eyes in the future, which is a real factor to consider.

I have rotten vision. I wear contacts now and have had good success with them. However, I see that as temporary. I plan to do the Bates method. I had heard about it here at curezone and thought it was a good idea but wasn't so sure about it, didn't know where to start, etc. Then I met a man (while I was traveling in China wouldn't you know it) who actually used the Bates method to throw away his own coke bottle glasses (in his 60's) and now teaches the Bates method. In the city I was living in! Except I moved away from that city six weeks later and had no chance to learn from him (which I definitely would have done). Anyway, after meeting him I decided I definitely will use Bates one of these days and now I'm thinking it might be sooner rather than later. I saw several different books/courses I could buy on the internet and some are quite reasonably priced, like $40 and up. Of course I don't know which is the best. But it is out there. And the idea of natural vision correction is becoming a little more accepted, I think. I was in the Sharper Image (gadget store) and they have an expensive system you can buy, like $300 or $400, I don't know if it is even Bates or not. And it apparently only takes like 15 minutes a day of faithful practicing the exercises.

But if you don't want to do Bates (which I totally recommend if you didn't notice), then I suppose there are plenty of worse things than Lasik eye surgery. I mean, it isn't "natural" but it's not a heart bypass surgery or liposuction, either. I just am NOT willing to risk being the 0.05% (or whatever the number) of people with BAD results or even damage!!
