You'll find that it will help you feel better. Taken short term -- a couple of weeks -- should not pose a problem. The main problem with meds like prilosec is after you are on them a while and then stop, you get rebound reflux because your stomach has started producing more acid. It can be managed, though until things settle down again with antacids (look for ones without aluminum) or simply a little baking soda in water. DGL licorice chewable tablets is helpful too.
