I don't worry about parasites. I take a tsp of diatomaceous earth (powdered mined diatomes - it's just silica and tastes like clay) in water every day. It will kill any worms or parasites in your gut. Added bonus is the silica makes hair and nails thick, strong and awesome. :-)
I have raw 100% grass fed ground buffalo in my fridge now for supper.
Raw meat digests totally different from cooked meat. Probably because it has the enzymes intact. Cooked meat just sits in my stomach and seems to take a long time to digest. Not raw. Of course, unless it's a black and blue steak you will most likely be eating your raw meat without company! When I go out I usually get oysters on the half shell, sashimi, or steak tartar which is acceptable raw to most folks.
