Vanuk, you're right on most accounts, and leaving the dead skin on is generally a good idea, but when you reach what appears to be the end of healing there is simply nothing to trim. When I first started the "apply nothing" treatment, my peeling cycle was 10 days! I WAS trimming then, but now the cycle is more like every 10-12 hours before it starts coming off on its own (much less ugly then in the beginning of course), and it pretty much comes off naturally while looking better each time and feeling better each time. Leaving it on as long as possible is the right idea, but it becomes less necessary as you reach the end (which I think me and drylips are close to). Good luck!
