Yes cleaning the edges with Hydrogen Peroxide and coating the edges with Vasoline is how you remove the eschar. That is very important. You are doing the right thing. I tried everything listed for diminishing scarring to no avail. I have bad scars. Still I have no idea if they would be worse had I not used the Vit E, Lavendar oil, Goldenseal/Tumeric, scar pads and all. So I will not discourage you from applying Vitamin E after the eschar comes out. Be patient. It takes time for these things to fester, turn loose, and then to heal. You will be fine. If you did not put the salve on a very large area, the scar will be small and people won't notice. Tweet
