And Onwards pretty much sums it up, healing must be cumulative because there are so many sources of damage.
Let me disseminate these she listed in particular, Marie and Trick, because I want you to understand what leaky gut REALLY is. And I say this bluntly, treating leaky gut, IS treating a SYMPTOM.

Six and Seven, probably are more of the cause of modern degenerative disease than by all other accounts. These two sources largely CAUSE leaky gut. Odd? Because your not eating it. Well it effects the immune system and that ultimately reduces the gut flora to an even worse state, where the then also un healthy Diet can really "finish" you off. Additionally, these two are very brutal on the nervous system, and I suspect that is where the depression, fibromyalgia, and mood disorders stem from.
"8- Prayer and letting go of ALL resentments."
Once the mind becomes very weakened by illness, normal positive forward thinking goes away. For me to recover, I have had to tell myself that how I feel and perceive things is only a product of my illness. As I feel better, the way I feel towards the world, and ultimately my personality, will become extremely different, and better.
"9- Eating 24 hr bone broth to heal the intestinal tract and plenty of hot egg drinks. Some raw milk kefir."
For the raw fruit diet, this is where a strong argument is made. And Onwards is not the first person I have read of not doing well with fruit and no animal protein. I wanted to eat broth badly, but my health deteriorated too severely. Every time I eat it, I get very severe inflammation.
I believe that there is some sort of phase or stage approach to properly cleansing the bowel, lymphatic system liver, pancreas, kidney, and spleen to where the body's reaction to a more Paleo/SCD diet is much less severe. I believe the tolerance to foods increases, as the gut heals. This is in fact what the "Gut and Psychology Syndrome" and "Breaking the Vicious Cycle" book outline. They also explain that is fact mostly the things you are NOT ingesting, but rather putting on your skin or breathing that cause the leaky gut.
The challenge for me is how long will I be stuck on a juice diet, and how long can I handle not eating meat or broth. Ultimately, if the cleanse over a 6 to 8 week period works well enough, I may continue to drink all of the juice, but add more meat and broth in addition to it. And I have some confidence in that approach.

Losing the ability to do these was also a huge step backward. Because ultimately the healing and detoxing needs circulation to get to every cell in the body, and the body needs sunlight and vitamin D. Vitamin D is a huge culprit in Leaky Gut, CFS, and fibro.
12- Plenty of sleep. I usually am in bed at 10pm each night.
Staying up past 10 also destabilizes the natural rhythm of the body. I typically am nocturnal, and I believe that is also destroying my health.

How did you do a bowel cleanse?
For this juice approach I am advocating, it is rather the herbs, spices, and vegetables, and not the fruit that are particularly involved in the detoxification aspect. However, the fruit is also good at doing it.
I also anticipate that making pickled vegetables and taking large doses of probiotics can really help tolerate the fruit and keep flora balanced.
Some people do poorly on fruit, and I believe it is because of imbalanced flora. These books suggest taking probiotics daily, indefinitely, because the gut flora is so compromised.
I think taking the right bowel cleansers, and the right herbs to detox could also keep gut flora in check.
