Re: Underlying Cause ?
Candida can be for a number of reasons:
1) Low probiotics (sometimes killed by anti-biotics)
2) Parasites
3) Heavy metals from dental fillings
4) Liver damage
That's why you look at all causes.
First step is making sure you have Candida. If you respond in some way to anti-fungals, you have Candida. If not, you have something else, sometimes I've seen people with Protozoan infections.
I'm guessing your stint with Kefir and zinc didn't 100% work out 2 years ago.
However, since you're low on probiotics and it did do something, it's encouraging. I would
1) Take Threelac. It's a super probiotic meant to kill Candida as well as replenish probiotics in the gut. If you have Candida, it should work great.
2) Take "Green Pastures cod liver oil" for vitamin D. If you have systematic Candida, your body will need to get rid of it, which means you need a good immune system.
3) Cleaning up the diet of course.
My full protocol is here.
