Re: passing out/seizures/low bp
I have had close to the same thing happen to me...just without the seizure; so I'm not sure if it is the same thing or not. I have woken up at 3 or 4am to go to the bathroom and after standing up, the next thing I know I am picking myself up off the floor. It happens to me other times of day too; but I am present enough in my own mind (since I'm not half asleep) that I can sit/lay down before hitting the floor. Usually I get some forewarning because I will feel shakey/weak for a bit before it gets to that point. My mother always says it is because I need sugar (I am not diabetic or anything)...I've tried to see a link between what i have eaten and this feeling, but I can't find anything.
I also have VERY low blood pressure--so low that everytime my bloodpressure is taken the nurse takes it again thinking there must be some kind of mistake. I have the same conversation everytime I go to the doctor. They take my BP and get this strange look on their face, and say let's take it one more time. After they get the same reading, I ask them about it; and they tell me "how healthy I am because my BP is so low"...I to this day don't understand why they get such a worried look if it is good to have BP so low. The last time I had blood work done I had the doctor ask me if I drink. I NEVER drink! He said that (and of coarse I forgot the medical term) I have enlarged redblood cells (something common in alcohalics he said) and that I need to take folic acid. I don't have the money to get further tests done; so I still don't know what is going on with me! I'm not sure if the BP and the redblood cells are linked.
I doubt what I have said will give you any help...sorry! I just had to respond since I've had similar experiences. If you find out anything I would be VERY interested to know what you find out! GOod luck to you and hope your wife is feeling better!
