I live in Colorado so the in winter time D3 is scarce because it's usually to cold for showing skin which is a factor on how much you absorb.
You damn sure need more than the government recommends. I have been reading from several sources that up to 8000 IU's daily is needed.
Since I haven't been tested I don't do the top end of recommendations.
Maybe you should to build up the immune system which is supposed to protect you from viruses.
