willow is where they always talk about moving the capitol to. alaska politics are so owned by the oil companies, and having the capitol so inaccessable really helps their cause. they figure the permanent fund check every year is enough to buy people off. they are right for the most part.
willow is north of anchorage, has much milder weather than the interior, and is much closer to decent shopping(many call it los anchorage or a suburb of seattle). i always lived in the interior, but even that has changed. if you dont want the real small bush town feeling, then willow, palmer, any of those places on the highway and within fifty miles or so of anchorage should provide the best of both worlds. what is it you guys want to do?
