I had dientamoeba fragilis infection for several months as shown by a stools test.
I tried secnidazole only for a few days but didn't finish the course as I found it quite harsh. My symptoms persisted for a while so i don't think the drugs cured me and I was reluctant to take stronger drugs.
I was determined to find a natural cure and I succeeded in the end (as determined by a follow up stools test AND the total elimination of symptoms) by taking the following things
* Seaweed, kelp,every day -has high Iodine content and excess is excreted in faeces. Yodoxin, a drug to treat Fragilis is Iodine based and Iodine itself is anti-parasitic.
* Bentonite clay
* Activated charcoal that has been mixed into a strong tea of Wormwood and chaparral. The charcoal sucks up the chemicals in the tea and drags them right through the gastrointestinal system, making life hell for any parasites.
*Umeboshi plums, and citrus,and other tremendously high Vit C foods.
* Concentrated potent high quality Japanese green from young leaves. The tea should be made at 75 degrees celcius so the active compounds aren't destroyed- huge source or quertin. The tea should look grass green in colour.
*Eliminate dairy and red meat from diet if not done already.
Of these things I think the seaweed is most important.
