Re: My first fast that I have attempted and im going onto day 4.
Hi 147643,
Excellent account and great job so far! My own opinion is that this will not necessarily get harder overall and in terms of physical hunger it will in all likelihood become a lot easier as your sensations of hunger go dormant right about now. I do agree with the awesome FastingAnne that it will probably become tougher in other areas including weakness and possibly other symptoms of detox which may or may not include nausea.
You mentioned that you need to drink more water and to that i say that you should drink only according to thirst, however much or however little this may be even if some days lead you to drink none at all (or 2 gallons if thirst calls for this). The fasting body will produce about 1.2 liters of water on it's own through a hydrogen by-product of fat burning combined with oxygen breathed in, so even if you drink no water at all you are getting this amount.
Starting at 259 i would expect you to lose a pound a day (or possibly even a little more) of what turns out to be enduring loss which would include primarily fat and a fair amount of (enduring) water loss as a part of your bodily downsizing and any other permanent losses. You will gain back the temporary water and intestinal content losses, true, but will in all likelihood emerge with the pound or more per day of real loss.
Your part would be to embrace the beneficial changes fasting will have made in you which will include a desire to eat healthier foods... and it will also include resisting the old temptations to return to the bad stuff. Though your fast will have made these temptations weaker, it is still up to you to choose daily to make the healthy choices.
