Theoretically, if a person grew up in an imaginary place called 'Acrobatia' and was raised believing that they should stand on their head for a half hour every day in order to honor the 'ORIGIN SPIRIT' (the creation "origin" deity) and also acknowledged WITH A PURE HEART the "purifier" that was sent for their spiritual cleansing, their afterlife destiny would be the 'Acrobatia' eternal resting place.....

...... (naturally, all of the 'Acrobatia people' would also have "pure heart" attitudes towards their fellow human being......a 'spirit of holiness' that could identify with 'Acrobatia's own spirit').

.....Of course, since we have the means to properly identify the "origin spirit" (AND if we respond by holding Him and His purifier IN FOND REMEMBRANCE/love), then all that we need do is add of our own character ("pure heart"/holy attitudes towards our fellow human being)..... (because they are HIS OFFSPRING)....we do not need to "ADD" our own effort (Jesus did all the "works", John 6:28 and 9:3)......'our works' are....to believe that HIS are completely sufficient.....(COMPLETE FAITH in HIM).

The Athenians in Acts chapter 17 also had pure hearts (Paul said to them "that which you [already] worship as UNKNOWN"),....they became whole/holy by being re-joined/reconnected to the properly identified "origin" (they already had a pure heart and admired the noble qualities of peace, truth, and justice,.......divine qualities).

Jesus came in the "fulness of time" (the completion and end of "time", Ephesians 1:10) and ushered in THE AGE OF ETERNITY....so that IN HIM we have "THE" life eternal (John 14:6), but we must learn to do things in a "pure heart" manner......(our conscience will be clear every day, Hebrews 9:14, God's Spirit "purifies the conscience", Jesus only purified "the flesh",....but He also brought "the Spirit" to US for N.T. holiness, John 7:39).

I stopped being a Catholic 47 years ago at the age of 10.

I no longer hold 'CATHOLIC BRAND' beliefs (I am not "partisan", Philippians 1:17).....Generic 'Jesus devotion' is called "the Way" (Acts 9:2, 11:26, 19:9, 24:22, and John 14:6).......John 14:6 also answers Pilates question "What is truth?" (John 18:38).

Jesus was not using 'poetic liscense' when He said....
"I am the Way, the TRUTH, and THE life....." (John 14:6)..

I view most Catholic INDIVIDUALS to be 'pure heart Godlovers' and well fit for the afterlife destiny of the "city of God" (afterlife heaven in Revelations).

If we live the present part of eternity with a "heavenly" mindset/attitude, the 'destiny' part of our eternity will simply be a continuation "reward" (believe that God is a 'rewarder', not a 'punisher', Hebrews 11:6,......and also "PERFECT love casts out fear")......

........"faith FOR FAITH" (Romans 1:17).

I never understood how any 'Catholic brethren' can willingly remain where so many of their own were sexually abused.

I would think that this report about the bishops would be VERY MEANINGFUL to those who remain.
