I do not follow a strict candida diet but I can tell you how mag oxide and citrate or lack of, affected me.
I had SEVERE leg cramps that crept up to my buttocks at times to the point that I could not sit for very long.
I had been taking calcium to mag oxide 2 to 1 ratio. I increased my magnesium oxide and and lessened the dosage of both over time. The cramping decreased a little bit.
I started taking natural calm ( a mag supplement) and continued to feel better. I replaced nat calm with now mag citrate because nat calm was just too expensive.
The now product has worked wonders although I still suffer from restless leg from time to time depending on the weather.
I will take extra mag citrate in the eve if I have eaten too much calcium or my legs bother me.
