Re: Hyperthyroidism, Gluten & Celiac Disease

yay! a gluten-free buddy!

Why going gluten-free would result in symptoms of hypothyroid, I don't know.
We certainly know that gluten intolerance/celiac disease can result in hypo... I would guess that it's(your symptoms are) transient.

Going gluten-free results in all sorts of symptoms... you, however, may be the very first to note this connection.

I've gotten gluten'd here and there over the last week. We have a friend staying with us that wants to express his appreciation for our generosity by cooking for us. Add to that the fact that my husband has NO problem with gluten and you get the "a little bit won't hurt" mindset...

My reasons for going gluten free were random aches and pains, and I'd read of the connection between gluten intolerance and fibromyalgia, hashi's, etc, I thought that I'd give it a try.

No digestive issues whatsoever.

Now, eating gluten? Stomach pain, intestinal cramping.

Was I just USED to eating gluten? Was my body just making do with inferior foods?

Anyway, now I'm convinced.
