You're right, meditation is definitely not the end-all answer, but I guess what I meant to describe before, was the mental clarity.
per esempio... We all create negative energies that we are not very well aware of. Since I was a kid, every night I had a stomach ache. Unknowingly, I created this sort of negative energy that was making me sick by constantly dwelling on it and being in fear of it.
One recurring dream I've experienced my whole life, and I know it's kinda gross, but somehow I always found myself in a filthy, communal toilet or bathroom. Trying to find a place to 'go,' a stall that was clean, etc. A maze of filth if you will...
I've since doing the meditation have come to realize that this recurring dream was the negative digestive trouble I've created. I haven't had this dream since I've started the meditation, which has helped my psyche tremendously. Now I know I haven't cured the physical ailment (colon ulcer), but I've definitely made a milestone in the mental aspect, as I feel liberated from this sort of 'nightmare.'
There is more power in it than one realizes. I had no idea this would be an outcome of the meditation, but I'm just very glad that I've eliminated this one, small area ;)
