Another area that can block going deeper has been on my mind today. Our heart must be available to engage. So many of us have people who have really hurt us. When we really haven't been able to forgive them and be healed of that wound our hearts can find it hard to really love. God can heal all of this but we must see it and take the steps to work on forgiving fully. Until that happens the perpetrator tends to get projected on one person or another, including God during our most difficult struggles. Even when we are not aware, it can be there, getting in the way of greater, trust, surrender and adoration. If you feel this may be affecting you, I hope you'll join me in prayer.

Father God I ask that you would help us to see our hearts and heal the wounds that stop us from loving deeply and with abandon. Father help us to move into greater depths of intimacy with you. in Jesus name we pray, Amen.

If anyone wants to post any biblical references for this thread, that would be wonderful. This is a fresh word that I am just now getting and I haven't gone to the word on it yet. Forgiveness isn't new, just ow it can block intimacy with God is new for me.
