I have infection issues (bacterial, fungal, god-knows-what-else) and metals (on top of a lot of other things).
1. Do I fix the metals first? The infections? Or do I try to re-start/boost my methylation cycles? Or, is there something else I need to consider, like a system-by-system detox (colon, lymph, blood...)???
Here is the theory behind my methylation issues: "The metals became prevalent because gsh (glutathione) was low to begin with - mercury attacks the thiol groups of amino acids - the thiol group is cysteine, methionine and taurine. Cysteine is the big gun in immunity - lower cys means lower immunity - lower immunity means more infections - more infections means more stress on the body - more stress means lower resistance - lower resistance means more metals/toxins - the cycle continues -
*infections and toxins lower gsh - restore the methylation/gsh levels which begins detox - lets get the b12/folic acid levels up then add more methyl donors like choline"
What are your thoughts? Am I not methylating BECAUSE of the toxins/infections (thus trying to stimulate this process with supplements is useless).....or is it vital to try to establish methylation BEFORE chelation in order to better support detox? Will chelating boost my immune system so that my body will eliminate the pathogens easier? Or will trying to methylate better first be the best route?
2. Also, I am taking Cysteine and ever since starting it, I've been feeling HORRIBLE (major anxiety/panic, GI issues). I also started chlorella, which i think is compounding the symptoms. Anyone had these issues before? What is going on?!
I really feel this is a very effective, comprehensive, and SAFE way to chelate. It's used all the time on Autistic kids, so it should be safe for me, too.
I think the cysteine is causing me issues...same with the chlorella. What do I do? My stomach feels like death today (and has been getting progressively worse, as is the emotional issues/anxiety). Am I aggravating the candida?
