.. while snagging clues from the Interweb
researching why the immune system obviously fails
to stop the mOrg attack; which seems to have
a strong fungal component to it.
I keep reading the same refrain..[or variations of it:
..systemic fungal infections only occur in immune compromised persons..[leukemia, HIV, AIDS, etc..etc..]
..does it ever occur to the experten that perhaps
it's not a matter of fungus only being able to stage
a successful attack on "immune compromised persons"..
but just maybe...
the person has become immune compromised because the
fungal attack has managed to deal severe damage to
...sometimes get the feeling that there is a deliberate
attempt to downgrade the danger posed by fungi in
the body..."don't worry, fungus cannot harm you unless
you are "immune compromised"....no HIV= no worries.".
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the gliotoxins [and others]
from even a garden variety Candida overgrowth
suppress the immune system by destroying monocytes and macrophages by triggering cell death [apoptosis].
The fungi are suppressing the immune system.
The fungi were already in the host.
The fungi didn't increase their numbers BECAUSE the
immune system was incompetent..the fungi is killing
the immune cells, allowing the fungi to increase
their numbers without interference.
not the other way around.
