I'm not sure of the way you're using "detoxify." I prefer to think that when I started taking iodine, I was very, very deficient. I kept taking more, as I could tolerate it, to speed placement into its receptors. I think it's the process of booting out the pretenders and replacing them with righteous iodine that helps the body behave the way it was meant to. Some people call that process detoxifying. That's fine. For sure, taking iodine is an attempt to make right what may never have been right. After satisfying this purpose, iodine needs will vary according to what the body is exposed to, in food, water, and air, everyday. Am I taking as much as I once did? No. Am I committed to taking what I sense I need, and to changing that amount when conditions warrant? Absolutely.
