Vit C ( and jut about everything else) pushes minerals out of my body. These are the minerals which control fluid balance, chiefly potassium. I used to supplement with potassium but it is known to waste calcium ( and my bones are soft) so I use higher doses of magnesium which allows to circulating potassium to enter the cells more readily.
Potassium rich foods include bananas, melons, potatoes, etc
( all the foods that feed yeast, unfortunately for me)
