I think you might be on to something there. It does seem to odd for the body to regulate pH so perfectly then throw something like sustained release vit C in the mix.
I believe for food to leave your stomach your pH has to hit the exact acidity threshold and the lower sphincter opens. It does sound like a bad idea to be changing the pH of that food as it moves through a system that is probably designed for a set pH at that point.
Does this mean those big calcium/magnesium pills are also suspect? I can't believe they're totally digested in the stomach and don't just continue affecting pH as they travel down your small intestine.
Well, I am quitting all my supplements for a week or two at my doctor's request. Maybe things will actually improve. I'll report back.
