Re: Oxy-Powder Questions

Hi NCM!

The Master Cleanse is more of a fast rather than a diet. If you haven't done so already, if do a quick google search, you might be able to find the booklet online that describes it in great detail.

Basically what you do is drink between 6-12 glasses of lemonade a day. According to Stanley Burroughs who created the fast, a minimum of 10 days is optimal up to forty or so, I think. I've found that even 3 o 4 days is fantastic, though I have stretched it out to 10 as well.

Here's the schedule:

The night before day one of the fast, drink a cup of senna tea, (Smooth Move, for example).
The next morning, drink a quart of filtered water with 2 teaspoons of Sea Salt from the health food store.
Drink 6-12 glasses of lemonade all day.
Before going to bed, drink another glass of tea.
Next morning, salt water flush, etc.

The ingredients for the lemonade are organic lemons, grade B organic maple syrup, (the real deal is delicious!), and cayenne pepper. Half a lemon is used for one glass, around 1/10th of a tsp of cayenne, and 2 tablespoons of maple syrup.

In the morning when you drink the salt water, try to drink it quickly, I believe the directions say within about 10 minutes. By all means, start the cleanse on a weekend, so you'll know about when the elimations will kick in so you can prepare for them!

If you get hungry throughout the day, just have another glass of lemonade.

You mentioned in another post that you're going to do b&p shakes. I had terrific success incorporating the b&p's with the Master Cleanse, just be sure to drink a LOT of water. On top of the lemonade, it's still very important to drink the standard 8 or so glasses of water a day. If you add the b&p's you'll need even more water. The bathroom will undoubtedly be visited more than usual!

I can't say enough about the Master-Cleanse and the b&p shakes. I've been looking forward to doing another fast, and will do so soon once I can work out the logistics and have a free weekend to start on.

Oh! How you end the fast is critical. It's very important to slowly and gently transition back into food, ESPECIALLY if you fast for more than a few days. I think to break the fast, fresh orange juice is prescribed for a day or two, and then fruit can be introduced. At this point, I'd like to refer you to the book in case I leave something crucial out. Your health food store will probably have a copy of the booklet, I think it's around $6.00 American.

There's a Master Cleanse Forum if I'm not mistaken, where you will find a ton of support and answers to your questions. Just like with the liver flush, the hardest part is not knowing what to expect!

Depending on what your typical day is like, you can either tote lemons, the syrup, and cayenne with you and mix throughout the day, or pre-mix everything before you go out. I've done it both ways and have found the latter, though it may not be as fresh, is far easier and much lower maintenance.

I look forward to hearing a great report should you decide to give it a whirl!
