All throughout history, the common gossip amongst churchgoers was that.....

...DISCREPANCIES can be found among the words that are used in scripture (sometimes even discrepancies of modern spelling, grammar, etc.).

I now know that I am wrong....."worshipper" is really not spelled with 2 "L's" and that "fullness" really has only one L.....otherwise I'd think that the BIBLE is 'IN DISCREPANCY', but now I know that the "discrepancy" is...

.....MY FAULTY understanding/perception of what is written.

GOD and everything true about, for, of, in, and by Him is INTEGRAL (all one).

Just like a circle, no PART can be contrary/contradict the 'whole', it simply is impossible.

There is a DIFFERENCE in how GOD EXPRESSES HIMSELF and HOW WE UNDERSTAND those expressions (we have the mortal flesh WEAKNESS and cannot 'understand things' the same as GOD SPEAKS.....(yet all the EXCITING and SENSational gossip continues that stirs/excites the five senses of the flesh weakness).

Martin Luther wanted to completely SCRAP the book of Revelation, but because churchgoers view it as an exciting/sensational 'murder mystery type' of literature and INSISTED that it remain, it stayed in the canon.

I've quoted from Revelations many times, so "I" personally believe that there is some validity/usefulness to it, but I always found it DEVOID of any SALVATIONALLY VALUABLE information, and neither does it teach any Godly behavior or attitudes.

It consistently provides much CONFUSION (is God the author of confusion?)...well now, God did send the strong DELUSION for the insincere...there is something we're not understanding here).

....God has not "confused" anyone, He has only "DELUDED" the insincere.

...it is the "god of CONFUSION" that has CONFUSED believers about WHEN the "delusion" will happen.

Well, I never had the ambition that God should ENTERTAIN me, nor did I ever have the attitude to "pray"/plead with Him to show me a better 'time on this earth' (no matter how much I was taught that I should "plead" with Him to IMPROVE His gracious giving)......YES, we were TAUGHT bad attitudes.

...so, I simply let HIS grace be completely sufficient for me.

But let's not go off half-baked and completely discard Revelations completely. I do find some things in it useful in understanding Godliness so that we "neither thirst" by not having "living water".....

Revelation 7:16 "neither thirst"....

......(eating the bread of life is good, but believers must also have living water 'tears of sorrow'/love in their heart).....

John 7:38.....(those who TRULY believe will have "RIVERS")....

"flowing from their heart".

.....like the woman's heart in Luke 7:38 (no heart of stone there, eh?, but neither did she glorify man in order to LOVE GOD)....Jesus was very impressed!!!....likely, this loving woman didn't have to be ordered/commanded to do 'good' (unlike the BILLIONS of my fellow human beings worshiping God all throughout history).

But the strangest thing I ever noticed about Revelations was that it contains a WARNING, oh no, not a FOREwarning (a warning BEFORE), but a WARNING all the way at the end of the book (and the warning is TO ALL who are reading BECAUSE THEY LOVE GOD)......

....well, naturally, we think this is normal of a loving kind God (because we think God is LIKE US).

Whether Revelations was tampered with by incredibly stupid and simple minded people that worshipped or not (and WHO did they worship?....maybe the gods of Egypt?), it would be much more likely that a loving kind God would simply CAUTION us BEFOREHAND of BLUNDERS and PITFALLS/mistakes, not REBELLION after the fact.

I don't know (neither do I care) about Martin Luther's reasoning, but overall, taking an objective look at Revelations, I can't say that there is any SUBSTANTIAL VALUE concerning salvation or Godly living/spirit,....,neither should anyone believe that God is an "entertainer" that holds His children's attention with fantastic stories about 'futuretelling'....(GYPSY/egypt 'fortune tellers' do that, so it is not unthinkable that the pagan Egyptian worshipers or beliefs at least INFLUENCED the scribes).

The ancient scribes of Israel (just like most people) were BEFUDDLED/stupified with all kinds of pagan habits/beliefs.

So don't get distracted with all of this pagan book worship, discrepancies, future telling entertainment and exciting gossip.

Learn about the "purification" of the flesh from COMMANDMENT SIN (the 'sin sacrifice' final cleansing) and the purification of the CONSCIENCE that results from learning from God's spirit.

Hebrews 9:14 "purify your conscience"....(the UNTAUGHT part of salvation).

All we need is "Christ and Him crucified".
