Raw Fed Cats

I've fed my 2 cats all raw meats for over a year now. Some people do it with scales and measure everything but I don't. I feed them pork, chicken, Cornish hen, turkey, chicken livers, wild salmon, and egg, all raw. I feed them all a Cornish hen [bones and all] and most all of a chicken [except for parts of the back that are too high % of bone], but NEVER cooked anything, especially not bone. The bone HAS to be raw or it can hurt cats. I feed them meaty bones every 3 days or so. Their poop will look pale or whiter the more bone they eat. I add nutritional yeast to their raw egg and beat it, and give them this 2-3x a week. I cut the meats up and freeze it in portions of one day or so and put it in zipper lock bags. It doesn't take very long at all - maybe 10 minutes 2 or 3x a week. DO NOT grind their food! I did this at first, and bought one of those electric meat grinders that turn meat into mush and didn't do anything to improve their dental health. LET THEM CHEW THEIR OWN FOOD and their dental health will be waaaaay better than it is with eating canned or dry cat foods. Commercial cat foods do not prevent dental problems. Having their teeth scraped is not good for them. Chewing raw meaty bones and meat chunks gives them a free and thorough dental cleaning.

My vet seemed envious of their health at a checkup last Winter. He found no problems with their teeth or coat, or anything else. I use NO flea chemicals on them any more, and this alone is reason to keep feeding them this way. I HATED to put dangerous chemicals on my best friends. They seem a lot more bulletproof on this way of eating. They've adapted to it well. They seem content and healthier than any cats I've ever had, although in general my cats have been quite healthy, but no recurring UTIs here, we haven't had that with these guys and I'd be surprised if we ever did.
