...meanwhile..in the "new arrivals" section of Muppet Labs..testing of the countertop revese osmosis unit is
Output rate is as advertised..no leaks despite the three
filters and the associated tubes..
Input tap water..300 ppm...
output: 15 ppm.
95 percent reduction in particles. As advertised.
[slight variations depending on variables..temperature,
water pressure..but it's solidly inside the advertised
performance envelope. ]
Sadly..there are still obviously visible 20 micron dia
fibers in the filtered water..several mm long.
How those fibers can routinely evade ALL filtering media
I've thrown at them is a Dark Mystery.
Nevertheless..I am seeing a repeatable 95 percent reduction
in dissolved particles/ions in the cleaned water.
And, the water samples in the test tubes are visually
could it be?..I have finally found a useable filter..?!
the amount of "waste/brine" water involved with the RO
is..lamentable..[4:1 bypass ratio] but seeing as how
the tap water is basically sewage..I can live with the loss
of water. Send it back to the sewage treatment plant from
which it came..
*one hopes that filtering out 95 percent of the dissolved
crap in the water equates to filtering out 95 percent of
the morg related particles and fibers.
Maybe..just maybe.. I can stop reseeding the gut with
"morg particles/fibers/gels"..and get ahead of this endless nightmare.
