Re: Uny, Warfarin,or whatever it is. Blood thinner questions
Raw garlic is a blood thinner (though not nearly as 'strong' as Warfarin/Coumadin).
No food/herbs should be used that are blood-thinners when taking Warfarin...so you'll definitely want to leave out the raw garlic.
The dark-green-leafies increase Vitamin K (which increases the clotting factor). But apparently after hip-replacement the reason they give Warfarin is to DEcrease the clotting factor to prevent the possibility of blood clots forming. So garlic is out because it can combine with the Warfarin to increase the possibility of hemorrhage. And since leafy-greens work against the Warfarin...then, well, since he's in 'their' hands, you'll want to checm with 'them'.
Hemorrhaging is a VERY common adverse-effect with Warfarin. Even a small bump or bruise can trigger a serious situation.
Suggestions:
--Make sure you have a good quality cayenne powder or tincture 'at the ready' wherever he is (and with you at all times). This will slow/stop a hemorrhage and you can continue giving it to 'keep it in check'. Personally, if a loved one was hemorrhaging in a hospital situation, I would 'knock over' the nurse or doctor if they tried to interfere with my giving it (assuming my loved one wanted it/agreed, of course).
--Be sure you know *exactly* what is happening daily with this (as they may be monitoring and/or changing dosage daily). On a blood test, you're looking for the PT measurement (PT stands for Prothrombin Time...the amount of time it takes ones blood to clot). It may also be listed as INR.
Here is what is 'normal':
PT: 11-13 seconds
INR: 0.8-1.1
Values below this means that his blood is too thin/unable to clot properly.
You can get the latest results from his chart.
If there's liver compromise, normal 'clotting function' may already BE below normal; taking too much Warfarin (or even 'any') would increase the possibility of hemorrhage. So do your best to keep checking his bloodwork levels and ask the physician to tell you the 'desired range'.
Of course, if there's really a risk of clotting then the best option is to use garlic & herbal blood thinners. If you and your partner are in agreement on that, then remember that you have every right to stop the Warfarin and take whatever herbs you want to take.
Also note that it's very common to form clots when drugs like Warfarin are discontinued; so when he goes off the Warfarin, several cloves of raw garlic daily should be 'on the top of the list'.
Rescue remedy is great - be sure to remember that Cayenne is also very good for relieving panic & anxiety (and pain, too). Here's how it works:

How long before they let him out? How's he doing with the pain?
'Sounds like you're doing good and hangin' in there...good for you!
Blessings aplenty!
