This is true Gaving, there has recently been a rise in the minimum wage in Australia, and studies show that people on the minimum wage use the extra money to buy locally, and the minimum wage increase has a direct and beneficial effect on the local economy, and the economy of the country as a whole.

The new national minimum wage will be $15.51 per hour, (more if you live in western Australia. A 3.4% increase.

We have also had the usual whining from the business sector, but history has shown that the a minimum wage increase has had little or no detrimental effect on business.
