No, I'm not a Christian anymore,....and neither have I really ever been the FOLLOWER type of person. Being a "follower" type of person is basically why so many people (believers AND unbelievers) feel uncomfortable about "Christianity", it is contrary to being a free thinking human being. Paul was a MEMBER OF Jesus (the Way) and so am I (I spiritually live INSIDE the one who hung on the cross, He is the outer temple, I am the inner temple).

Peter was the one who denied Jesus completely (3 times, Father, Son, holy spirit), killed Ananias and wife because he was lied to, gained followers by the use of fear and allowed himself to be glorified instead of God in Acts 5 ("his shadow might fall on them"). Jesus characterized him well...

"you are not on the side of God" (Mark 8:33).

Yes, there are many more practical differences, but I never made a big deal about the name because it would cause FACTIONS/division (it is better to keep the peace).

Basically, the difference between "the Way" and "Christianity" is the kind of devotion/relationship. When a person first accepts Jesus as savior, they are a "babe" in Christ (young in the faith) and are only taught the BASICS ("fed with MILK"), but in the traditional teachings they are never taught to move on (graduate) to a FULL/mature devotion so they can be "fed" SOLID FOOD and have a deeper understanding (the "depths of God", 1 Corin. 2:10).

1 Corinthians 3:2
"I fed you with milk, not solid food; for you were not ready for it; and even yet you are not ready".

Hebrews 5:14
"But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their faculties trained by practice to distinguish good from evil".

It PROBABLY doesn't matter TOO MUCH (MAYBE, maybe?) if people go to the "New Jerusalem" city of God not knowing/understanding the complete truth about God or scripture BECAUSE God "looks at the heart" ("heaven" starts NOW if you have a heavenly heart and mind, "heaven" is wherever Jesus is, this is the age of ETERNITY). Jesus came in the FULLNESS of time (the completion/end of time). In "eternity", He is THE life (life eternal, John 14:6).

....(neither is the "strong delusion" "future", but was provided for all who take idols INTO THEIR HEARTS, Ezekiel 14:3).....the strong delusion has always been in effect, that's why we have had lies for hundreds of years.

God designed scripture so we could (if we really desire to) LEARN what should be known. He had Pilate ask Jesus "What is truth?". Jesus didn't answer at the time, but explained in John 14:6 that HE is the truth.

It's not like God doesn't recognize "time" at all (a day is as a thousand years), but if we have a RELATIONSHIP DEVOTION instead of a BOOK DEVOTION, we have already begun to live a life of eternity by residing spiritually inside Jesus's body (heaven is INSIDE OF US).

Well, anyway, I don't think we ever understood Revelations properly. Martin Luther wanted to get rid of the book,...it does provide much "CONFUSION"...(from the god of confusion??)...in ETERNITY, there is no such thing as "future" (in PRACTICALITY).

So, Camping probably just stumbled upon some weird coincidences that were going to happen anyway (he is in the right place at the right time). It's like predicting that a soldier is likely to someday die in the battlefield.

In scripture, God is telling us how to be more fully human as a peaceful and just person. As far as DEVOTION, He wants us to love HIM ONLY and simply have peaceful regard for each other.

Hebrews chapter 6 tells us what the "apostasy devotion" is. The "apostasy" is having a "book devotion" and does not have JESUS ONLY as it's foundation (many want to keep REPENTANCE from law as a "foundation" by performing deeds of righteousness and having "faith TOWARD God", Hebrews 6:1)....we should have a "faith FOR FAITH" (Romans 1:17) and also NOT be showing love to EACH OTHER (for DEVOTION, not personal relations and close friends) or doing "works" instead of trusting that JESUS did all the works necessary ("works of God", John 6:28 and 9:3).

...but all is not lost if we show love to each other in order to honor God...

"For God is not so unjust as to overlook your work and the love which you showed for his sake in serving the saints, as you still do"......

.....(the difference in only/simply being saved/"purified" and having purification PLUS "inheritance" rewards, Ephesians 2:15).

There are many "depths of God" differences between a prideful "bookmaster" devotion and a devotion based on "the greatest of these" (1 Corin. 13:13), but God is not an entertainer....entertaining His children with fortune/future telling "Revelations", that's not why God sent His revealing "Word" (the "Word" became flesh, not text/scripture).

No doubt, SOME of Revelations can contain "future" ("time" has little practical relevance in ETERNITY/God, a day is as a thousand years), but "future" revelations are not so relevant in eternity, so Camping may have been in the right place at the right time, but that's all he is.

Mankind has always taught about the 3 manifestations of God (creation, salvation/purification, and spirit) as though MAN (the 6th day creation) should be glorified instead of God (3 sixes)....WE/humanity are 666.

666 is not the number of a 7th day creation, it is the number of a 6th day creation man....
