Re: Macerating Tinctures

I had the same problem tonight. I made nerve sedative and on the last jar I was blending I noticed that there were pretty large pieces of that light colored root. I took one out and tried to cut it and it was even hard to cut with a knife. I kept blending on the highest setting and I think it did a lot better. However, I did notice that the tincture was warm(luke). I'll try to watch that next time. I may redo my other four quarts. I want the best tincture for my trouble even if it turns out to be more trouble.

I had never thought that much about this potential problem before. I was just concerned with whether I had enough vodka in them. I don't, BTW, so will have to deal with that on monday too.

Ok, I'm just rattling.
