Re: Minerals
Quickie question about minerals. Could you recommend a method, a 'something', to bring minerals into a person?
My sweetie has had 5 total joint replacements and heading for a 6th. One thing that has become overwhelmingly clear is the need to supplement minerals. A couple years ago, her first hip replacement started to rear its head, pain-wise, and the usual trail of medical visits led to a surgeon who called for the scans and all. During the month of the visit spiral, I really increased her (our) intake of a range of minerals. The pain decreased fairly quickly and by the time we walked in for the coming to jesus med visit, the pain was gone.
Pretty obvious that even with a good diet and mineral supping, we had to really hammer on minerals. Do to this day. So, am wondering what you think about a good way to bring a rounded mineral regiment into our regime? Dulse mebbe? Other things?
Will look forward to a response when you have a sec.
It is not simply taking minerals. A common myth is that it is minerals that give our bones their strength. The fact is that it is the collagen matrix that not only gives bones the majority of their strength, but it is also the silica in the collagen matrix that allows bones to mineralize in the first place. When we lose the collagen we also lose the mineralization of bone. A good example is osteoporosis, which is not a loss of minerals, but rather a loss of collagen matrix. Therefore simply taking minerals will not replace lost bone.
If you want something simple that will help then I recommend gelatin along with nettle leaf, alfalfa and a seaweed for their rich mineral content. If you want something more advanced look at my Bone and Joint formula, which provides other beneficial factors such as absorption enhancers and collagen stimulators:

I do have both a regular version and a vegetarian version, but am moving to simply making a vegetarian version by using nutrients to mimic bone and collagen sources such as gelatin.
Also remember that the stomach acid has to be maintained to absorb the nutrients needed to form bone and cartilage. I have posted a number of times on maintaining stomach acid.
