Re: Willow, I think quarts are better for my tinctures

Hi Celestial,

I agree on that reasoning. Also, when I even do a half gallon I tend to pour too much liquid into my pressing cloth(pillow case corner) and it takes forever to squeeze it through. I don't know how many people are using the cloth for pressing. I imagine with a tincture press that you woudn't have that problem.

I think I wasn't careful enough on the nerve sedative tincture. I measured each herb separately last night and that being such a small amount for eight herbs, I probably ended up with too much herbs. It looks like I don't have enough float. Maybe it will be better after blending. Next time, I will measure the roots in a bowl, the hops in another and the grasses/leaves in another. I think it will work out better.

I think Willow and I have decided on a good measure for tincturing the echinacea. That is 1/2 cup of each echinacea herb(purpurea and angustifolia) per quart. That is one cup total per quart.

I know how it is to not be able to get something cheap enough because of the area I am in. With me it is organic veggies.

I love to hear about tincturing too. Good luck
