Re: Got Glutathione?

So, Hv, what would be the list of different antioxidants to take that would cover all?

It would be impossible to supplement all the antioxidants since many are generated by the body.  And even these antioxidants in supplement form do not always absorb properly or can be broken down in the digestive system before being absorbed.

Best thing to do is keep the body supplied with proper nutrition so it can generate what it needs.  For example, manganese, zinc and copper are used to form superoxide dismutases.  Selenium is needed to produce glutathione peroxidase.  Etc.

And people need to stop worrying about trying to get massive amounts of antioxidants.  Again, free radicals are necessary for our health and survival and too many antioxidants can actually suppress immunity:

In addition, excessive amounts of antioxidants can actually become pro-oxidant.  Vitamin C is a great example, which is actually an oxidant in megadose levels.
