Re: When to Restart a New Fast

"It's been about a month and a few days since I finished my 20 day water fast - I've since been on a vegan "diet."

Just wondering two things:

1.) How long after one completes the water fast is it okay to do a 10 day...I don't know, let's say either a juice/vegetable fast or some other kind of cleansing regimen like The Master Cleanse? Should one wait more than a month? Two or three, perhaps?

2.) Is it safe to do juice only (both vegetable and fruit) for 10 or more days? Or should one restrict it to the least amount of days as possible (i.e.: 2-3)?

Thanks."

Hi 10day,

I have read from chrisb1 that it's a good idea to re-feed on healthy foods for at least 1.5 days for every day of fasting before engaging another fast... so given your 20 day fast you would re-feed for 30 days which you have.  Where juicing is concerned, no such limitation should exist, but for something as nutritionally limited as the master cleanse the 1.5 ratio should apply.

I wholeheartedly believe it is extremely safe to do veg and fruit juicing for 10 or more days, particularly if you are not trying to drastically limit the volume/calories.

Best wishes.
