Re: wheretheresawill - Info about Albendazole & tapeworm - lengthy reply!

well here's a lengthy explanation, I have taken since September last year upto now, 5 courses of ABZ with no signs of improvement, each of these courses were between 14 to 19 days at 800mg max daily [occasionally 1200mg daily] with no obvious skin herx's [die-off] and I still had continuing intermittent hatches months after, so eggs had not been affected!

what happens is this, I find it so hard to tolerate the start of lively activity not long after commencing with ABZ which continues on whilst taking this med. Believe me, I have tried and tried keeping the faith that ABZ will do it for me so if you find the time to read some of my past posts it will give you a better picture where I describe in detail the varying movements of activity felt mostly around my scalp [which is red, sore and inflamed with some hard bumps] and activity around my face area, nose, eye tissue [twiching around eye tissue with activity]. To a lesser degree, I feel activity around legs, feet and midrift areas but it's my head area that upsets me most.

I could go on and on about the skin and tissue manisfestions I have had, starting with the reddish skin trackmarks, later progressng to a 1 inch crescent linear shape skin lesion with subsequwnt tissue growth in one area, but not now as it's far too complex to paragraph here.

Since last year I can now see further evidence when scrutinizing the skin closely, a build-up of white calified worm shapes of varying lengths and thickness under the skin as well as some small white hard bumps that have increased in number since last year.

I only started treating with meds last September at the start of what I would term as a hyperinfection of my tissues [but not in the lungs, sinus or gut] and frankly as this infection started years back with some of those years feeling little or no activity, I did not know then what I have learned now as I thought the infection was self-limiting so did not treat it. Mistake, yes because I now learned that encysted ova and eggs lie dormant for many years.

I have seen a tropical doctor twice, each time he disbelieves my tissue symptoms as he only relies on serology and stool positive results, it's hopeless to get any further down this road as he is not interested in the slightest in tissue invasion in fact, he told me there is no possibility of that happening!!

With Ivermectin at least I seem to have less activity, Ivermectin is supposed to eradicate adults in specific infections to include some specific larvae if you read the veterinary treatment indications. ABZ is supposed to act on the ova and eggs but something must agitate the adults I feel racing through my tissue when I'm taking ABZ!

with DEC there seemed less activity but DEC is so hard to continue to take only for the mega-fatigue factor, it's like being in a invisible straightjacket, I could not mobilize myself to do anything, otherwise no other bad side effects.

I will have to continue with a particular brand of Ivermectin horse paste, as some other brands contain Tween 80 which is toxic to the kidney and liver, I soon felt the result of that one, for one day only, really felt bad for a day with body swelling, severe sick migraine, that I do not have otherwise.

I would like to get hold of Ivermectin powder on Amazon but that seems impossible, they don't ship it to UK. Is there anyone who could assist me with this one, would be most appreciated.

finally, if you ask how am I coping, hardly at all, how do you cope with an infection that does not respond to treatment. I want to enjoy life again, failing that, I would rather now not have to face another day of an unending fight.
