Re: When we will be cured ??

Please keep hope! Absolutely!

I've been thinking this past week about how much life has changed in the last month or so since I finished the diet. As you may remember, I did McCombs plan after trying a terrible medley of other diets and supplements over the course of two years. I took to prayer in a more serious way.

Anyway, the McCombs plan worked for me, and I feel like a new person. I'm uninhibited in ways that I never knew I was formerly held back. My self confidence is much higher now, as is my clarity of thinking. I'm present to people in conversation, and that clarity is not food dependent. Sugar doesn't make me crazy.

What I realized is that the whole time I was messing with other diets and fiddling with supplements, I was eating things that were making me sick without realizing it. Nuts are not ok for me, neither is dairy, wheat, coconut, and soy. For a while, I lived on nuts (like when I traveled somewhere and all they had was corn tortillas or bread and coldcuts for food for us). Because I relied on them as a supposedly "safe" food, I was basically keeping my poor immune system in stress due to allergies. By following the specific diet plan (laid out week by week), I forced myself to eat outside of my normal diet and cut out certain foods according to the plan, reintroducing them as noted. Holy moly - I had no idea that I'd been eating foods that were bad for me. Not only that, but eating large quantities of them!

Through this cleansing process (and subsequently clearer thinking), I realized that I have a bit of a codependent personality. Now that I've taken better control of my life and have removed some of the possible stress sources, I have significantly more energy. It's really quite amazing.

I have hope that you can all be healed of the candida. If at wit's end, considering following the McCombs plan, even if simply for the mere discipline of not messing with your supplements and diet for the duration of the plan. I think it was what I needed both psychologically and physically. Before I went on the plan, I was borderline obsessive, freaking out about different reactions from food and feeling out of control. What made me choose to do the plan was the fact that Dr. McCombs has a message board here. He answered every single question I had, even when I was freaking out with seemingly trivial questions. He gave me good direction that pointed toward undiscovered food allergies .

I'm hopeful for each one of you!
