Re: Need urgent help...
Pirate Shay,
You stated that you didn't want to debate then proceeded to make about 5 inflamatory comments... so it seems you really did want to debate afterall. I will assume for you as for me this is not about ego, but rather a search for truth.
You commented on Karen Carpenter's weight of 108 upon death as if that itself was dangerously low when in truth it is considered normal range bmi (19.13) for her 5 foot 3 inch height. The real problem was that she had crash dieted for 6 years down to about 78 pounds (bmi 13.82) and repeatedly taken a drug to induce vomiting and thyroid medicine to increase her heart rate to burn calories. All of this took its toll on her, permanently damaging her heart before she gained about 30 pounds back to 108 pounds by the time of her death.
I wouldn't want to see a panic started by people that believe 108 pounds at 5'3" is a dangerously low anorexic weight which would make our fasting friend's weight of perhaps 95 pounds seem immensely more dangerous by comparison. Let's compare the 95 pounds to the unsafe 78 that Karen got down to, not to the normal 108 that she got back up to and let's keep in mind that a fasting individual will have artificially low weight from temporary water and intestinal content losses.
Regarding hunger, I personally experienced a sensationally powerful and entirely unmistakable true hunger (only in one of my 3 major fasts and not in the other 2) so i am 100% convinced that it is an absolute reality whether you (or others who have never experienced it) consider the issue open to debate or not. Chrisb1 has experienced it as well. Those who have never encountered it can speculate all they want, but to experience it just once in all of its unspeakably ravenous fury is to know beyond any possible doubt and to understand immediately that genuine hunger is absolutely real.
Health food store books? If that is problematic for you perhaps you are not compatible with the whole concept of curezone and no doubt every one of the thousands of quotes from the Soil and Health Library over the years in this water-only forum must really have been driving you nuts.
You stated that i had no right giving advice (i assume you were talking about me?) when my only actual advice was that he should seek the help of a professional fasting supervisor and that he should err on the side of caution. I hardly think i or anybody else needs to work alongside starving people in Africa to voice this kind of extremely conservative opinion.
