I'm still around. No Wombat, I still haven't listened to the Mark Starr audio! Sorry! We're still so overwhelmed without anyone I can trust to take care of our child, so I only get a limited amount of time every day to do stuff while he sleeps.
There is so much wind and rain up here in Oregon right now, it's beating up the house!
I saw Trapper's repeat of the federal info for how much potassium Iodide to give to different ages.
My toddler, now approaching 2 years old, is STILL ON SYNTHROID (er levothyroxine). I know, some of you are shaking your heads and feeling great grief for me. I wish I had been able to find a second opinion, but so far, haven't been able to find anyone with experience with children. Our doc is still the ped endo research guy.
All I know is, ANOTHER family came in for the same problem, and the woman, like me, was taking Iodoral while pregnant and I guess right after baby was born. We're still thinking Iodine overexposure. We'll never know for sure, I guess.
Anyway, so we're sitting here in Oregon, not freaking out about radiation, but still wondering what else to do. I still have a little SSKI left. I still put a drop of this form of Iodine in our bone broths and such (so it's way diluted). And I still have the big fat 2 bottles of Lugol's solution from Ricca, guess I bought those through JCrows or something. And I still sometimes take a drop of SSKI in water, myself.
Oddly, the ped endo said we can give our child KI, because the drug will keep his thyroid from downregulating.
